Juanma Lizana fell in love with design and furniture as a young boy, and has always remained closely connected to this world. He designed his first prototype, a ceiling lamp made from methacrylate, in 2002 after years of study. The following year he completed a degree in interior architecture, and soon after began working as an interior designer. In his work Lizana began sourcing vintage furniture for clients, which soon developed into a passion of his own. Alongside his newfound interest in vintage design, Lizana continued under eponymous label Juanma Lizana to create his own work, lighting in an industrial contemporary style.
In 2007, Lizana opened Vintage 4P in the trendy La Latina neighbourhood in Madrid. Vintage and contemporary come together at the Vintage 4P store. The pieces created under the Juanma Lizana label are heavily influenced by the past, particularly by vintage industrial designs, and so live harmoniously side by side with the 20th century items. Juanma Lizana continues to make a name for himself internationally, both for his vintage collection and his design and production of modern, industrial lighting.
